LED aquarium light brings magic to our fish tank
LED aquarium lights are a very important device that is definitely indispensable, especially if left in the house without an aquarium light, the plants will not grow and die. In addition, aquariums are not the same as regular aquariums, so users should choose specialized balls that are best purchased at professional aquarium stores.
LED aquarium light features
Light color
LED colors usually have a nicer light, namely a warm white light and no glare. Ordinary lights won't make fish catch colors as beautifully as LED lights. In addition, LED lights don't blink but the light is distributed evenly, making no harm to human's eyes.
Color temperature
Usually, people use T5 or T8 Tube lights for the aquarium because they have the right color temperature. With LED aquarium light, the color temperature ranging from 3,000K to 5,300K is also highly suitable for the growth of aquatic plants.
Radiate heat when in use
In terms of heat reduction, LED lights are superior to conventional lights for aquariums. If an aquarium has many T5 or T8 tube lights, they will raise the temperature of the tank significantly. Meanwhile, aquatic organisms and plants need relatively cool temperatures to thrive. So unless users add a cooling fan, choosing LED aquarium light is the best choice.
Electricity consumption
Many studies show that LED lights only consume a tenth of electricity compared to fluorescent lamps and a fifth of that by compact lights. For a long-term use, or with a high number of tubes used in a large aquarium, the monthly electricity cost will show a huge difference.
Lifespan
It is required to replace the tubes used in the aquarium, either the T5 or T8 tubes, every six months on average. The tubes would often weaken after this period and their light becomes insufficient for aquatic plants to grow well.
As for LED lights, their durability is much higher as their lighting time is about 50,000 hours, which means a lifespan of five to 10 years.
Safety
LED lights are designed from small tubes to reduce CO2 emissions and do not use mercury, making them safe for the environment. Compared to conventional lights, which are fragile and may turn dangerous once broken into small pieces of glass, LEDs are much safer.
In addition, LED lights use a low current of 12 volt on average, posing no dangers to users even in the case of an electrical problem.
Economic efficiency
As for the cost, it seems that LED lights are much more expensive than common lights for aquariums. Its cost is 2-3 times higher, while LED light troughs are 5-10 times more expensive than other types of light troughs. However, in the long run, LED lights are highly cost-effective.
