Using LED RGB for decorating may bring a surprise

While LED RGB is not a strange concept, and RGB LEDs have been widely used in many areas, at public places, not many people know or understand it clearly. We will be looking closer at its structure, capability and uses in the article below.

Definition

LEDs (short for Light Emitting Diode) are diodes that are capable of emitting light or infrared and ultraviolet rays. LED RGB is a lighting system that combines 3 basic light sources: red (Red), green (Green), and blue (Blue).

LED RGB is a combination of 3 colors: red, green, and blue.

So LED RGB is a type of LED with multi-color light and the flexible color changing ability. Products are commonly used in many different fields, present in most stages, indoor and outdoor events, bars, etc.

Several variations of RGB LEDs

  1. LED AGRB

LED ARGB is a type of LED chip in which each LED eye is able to display separate colors, while in a normal RGB LED, a LED chip strip will display just a single color.

  1. Rainbow LED Lights

LED Rainbow is a 7-color LED with embedded chips in RGB LED that can change the intensity of light to create a shimmering, waveform color effect.

Rainbow LED systems can change color in either pre-programmed or controlled mode and they are often used in many computer accessories such as keyboards, mice, speakers, etc.

Structure

The LED RGB part consists of a light bulb and 4 contact pins, which include 1 common positive pin (anode) and 3 negative pins (cathode) equivalent to the 3 colors red, green, and blue. The color of the LED changes depending on the pin of the LED which is controlled by the PWM pulse.

The control board part of a basic RGB LED: Normally, to control the color of the light, we will have a panel with a voltage of 5 - 24V.

This circuit board will help users change the colors as well as create many different color gamuts, and adjust the light intensity to best suit the space that needs the light source.

RGB LED uses a microcontroller circuit to produce a variety of colors. The circuit will produce the following 8 basic colors.

Popular types of RGB LEDs

5-mm RGB multi-color LED

The 5-mm RGB LED has three main colors, namely red, blue, and green.

Suitable for temperature conditions from 30-60 degrees C, and diode voltage of 3-4V, the current supply for each 5-mm RGB bulb requires stability to maintain a good light source.
