Types of sensor lights

There are 3 types of sensor lights on the market now. They are PIR sensor light, Radar sensor light, and light sensor light. Let's find out about the above types.

Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor light

These lamps work on the IR radiation generated by warm-blooded animals. Passive infrared sensors consist of a thin electric Pyro-membrane material, which reacts with infrared radiation by generating electricity. This sensor will activate the theft alarm whenever this current occurs. These sensors are economical, do not use more energy, and have a long lifespan. These sensors are commonly used in indoor alarms.

Detect motion by PIR sensor

When installing a PIR sensor light, be careful not to install it near the heater of the air conditioner nor the area that has a lot of sunlight (eg windows with curtains) because the high ambient temperature near 37°C will reduce the sensor ability.

Radar motion sensors light

This type of light uses Doppler principles to determine the motion and speed of an object, based on the complexity of the radar deployment. For simple object detection, the radar transmits a 24 GHz waveform and reflex off an object within the sensor's field of view. The received signal will have a frequency difference known as the Doppler frequency. So that the light can detect objects moving near and will turn on automatically.

This type of lamp is usually installed in a wide area due to wide sensing angle (120) and the ability to sense through obstacles such as walls, wood, glass. However, the lights can also be turned off when you don't want them, such as when you're watching TV or lounging with a good book. As a result, you will need to move around frequently to keep the lights on.

Light sensor light

This light using a Light sensor that developed based on the principle of the photoelectric effect of semiconductors. It can be used to detect the intensity of ambient light, and it can also be used to detect differences in light between surfaces of different colors. So it is often used in smart lighting such as automatically turning on when the ambient light intensity is lower than a  fixed level.

Light sensor

This type of lamp is usually installed in places where there is a lot of variation in light. For example, when installed outdoors, the light changes according to sunlight. Therefore, the sensor should avoid receiving light sources from car and motorcycle lights.
