Several types of LED ceiling lights
A light fixture has the power to create or ruin a room's decor. The proper light fixture should be proportional to the size of the room, produce necessary lighting, and compliment other design aspects. Let's look at several types of LED ceiling lights and their different uses.
Flush Light
Flush fixtures are ceiling-mounted flat attachments. This light is highly versatile. Depending on the size of the space, users can locate fixtures ranging from 12" to 24" broad.
Small flush lights are perfect for bathrooms, closets, and hallways. In addition, larger flush fixtures are a safe choice for the child's bedroom since there is nothing hanging from the ceiling.
Flush light fittings look best in settings with ceilings no higher than 2 meters. Installing a flush light in a room with a higher ceiling may result in an excessive amount of space.
Flush ceiling lights are one of the most popular light fixture designs because they are discreet and provide optimal lighting for any room as long as we choose a fixture with a wide enough diameter and install a bright enough bulb.
Recessed Light
Recessed lights are also known as pot lights or can lights. This type of light fixture is installed in the ceiling and is probably the best option for the room with a low ceiling.
For installing a recessed light, users must have at least 6" of clearance above ceiling. The light fixture is installed in the ceiling, and a glass panel diffuses the light throughout the room. A trim is used around the glass panel, and the result is highly subtle.
It is important to note that a well-insulated ceiling is required because humidity can accumulate inside the light fixture.
The downside of recessed lights is that they do not diffuse light to the entire room. This type of ceiling light works best for ambient or task lighting.
Recessed lights require a more complicated installation process than flush fixtures, but there are some advantages to this design:
- Recessed lights with an eyeball trim are available. This feature allows users to direct light on a wall to highlight artwork or create optimal task lighting for the desk.
- If we have a small room with a sloped ceiling, a recessed light directed on an empty wall to reflect the light and make the entire room appear larger and brighter, which is a significantly discreet and efficient solution.
- Installing several recessed lights in a row or square can illuminate a large area or the whole room.
Utility Lighting
Do we need a simple light fixture for our garage, laundry room, or basement? Utility lights are most likely the best option.
Utility lights are either simple fixtures mounted flush to the ceiling or LED bulb casings. This second option is ideal for a garage workshop because it will need to be brighter and more energy-efficient. Utility lighting may appear to be a minor improvement, but it can drastically alter how we use a space.
