Rang Dong’s Battery-Free Wireless Switch Offers Smart Control
Running new wiring or replacing batteries in a wall switch is often the biggest obstacle to adding remote control to an existing room. Rang Dong, Vietnam's leading manufacturer of LED products and provider of smart home solutions, has built its battery-free wireless switch, model CT2C V1, to remove the obstacle entirely. A built-in energy-harvesting circuit generates the electricity needed to send a signal the moment someone presses a button. The following article looks at what the battery-free wireless switch offers and where it fits best in a smart home.
Rang Dong builds the CT2C V1 around a self-generating energy circuit, so pressing a button of the switch creates the electricity needed to send a Bluetooth signal.
The battery-free wireless switch is available in three-button configurations on the same body (86 x 86 x 12.5 mm, or 3.4 x 3.4 x 0.5 in), so it can control up to three connected devices.
At just 120 grams (4.23 ounces), the switch pairs over Bluetooth with Rang Dong's CTC2C.WF two-way Wi-Fi switch, holding a stable connection within up to 50 meters with a clear line of sight, or about 5-6 meters through walls.
Rang Dong rates the switch for an operating temperature range of negative 10 degrees Celsius to plus 40 degrees Celsius (14-104°F) and an IP54 rating against dust and light water exposure. The design meets the IEC 60669-1 international standard for household switches.

Exceptional features
Beyond removing the need for batteries or wiring, the battery-free wireless switch is designed for genuine day-to-day convenience.
Given it does not require any wired connection, the switch can be mounted on a wall or simply left as a handheld unit on a nightstand or desk, moved wherever it is most useful.
Once paired with a compatible two-way Wi-Fi switch, the one battery-free wireless switch can control a light or fan from a completely different location, such as a bedside unit that is also capable of turning off a hallway light without anyone leaving the bed.
Soft, curved buttons, beveled edges and rounded corners give the switch a compact, minimalist look that fits into most interior styles. The IP54 rating means the device can handle humid bathrooms or areas exposed to light rain without damage.

As the buttons snap firmly on press and release, the switch avoids the mushy or unreliable feel that lower-quality wireless switches sometimes have.
Applications
The battery-free wireless switch suits stairwells and hallways, where a single tap can control lighting across a shared space without new wiring.
Bedrooms and home offices benefit from the same convenience, letting a switch by the bed or desk control a fan or overhead light without getting up.

Multi-floor or multi-room homes are a particularly strong fit, since one switch can pair with fixtures in another part of the house, saving the trip up or down a flight of stairs just to flip a light off.
Since installation only requires mounting the unit, without cutting into a wall or running new wire, the battery-free wireless switch also suits renovations or retrofits where rewiring an existing room is impractical.
With no batteries to replace, no wiring to install, and three-button configurations to match different rooms, Rang Dong’s battery-free wireless switch offers a practical, low-maintenance way to add remote control to an existing home.
