Rang Dong makes LED Downlight production line mercury free

In order to produce quality LED downlights and guarantee that they fully meet consumers' expectation, Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company, Vietnam’s leading manufacturer of LED products and smart lighting solution provider, selects the components carefully and tests each product thoroughly. Firstly, it's the LED module cutting stage. Currently, Rang Dong uses Samsung LED packages with high efficacy, 100 lumens per watt, long life time and high reliability. At the LED module cutting stage, workers comply with a technical requirement by wearing antistatic gloves, while the line must be earthed to ensure safety for workers.

In terms of technology, the assembly line is automatic. Workers feed heat sinks onto the line (as in the photo above), into which the LED module is automatically inserted.

Next, it is the screw shooting stage. Three machines are tasked here to fix screws in position. Their output is 1,000 pieces per hour.

At the LED module welding stage, all the equipment has been checked the moment they are put to work with the line, such as earthing for welding machines, antistatic wrist straps and antistatic finger cots.

Next comes the glue injection stage, using glue for DC cable to prevent insects from penetrating into the lamp. All of them will undergo first-round lighting check. After that, workers insert papers in the heat sink to help increase LED Downlight reflection.

The radiator twisting stage: Rang Dong now uses two types of radiators, one is plastic, and the other is ESD painted Aluminum. The PC radiator is manually twisted while the Al radiator is automatically punched.

Automatic testing stage: It involves picking devices and defect detecting lights installed with a product quality management software. If lighting failure or wrong specs are detected, the faulty light will be taken out. Products are moved to another conveyor for testers. After this stage, products are moved to the laser printing stage to get product information printed.

Terminal block installing stage for DC cable: Workers will block the DC terminal. The stapling stage is to ensure safety and proper hanging followed by the Strapping wire installation stage.

The second stage of lighting check: A mirror is placed opposite the tester to visually check the LED inside the downlight. Based on the specs, faulty downlights are taken out. The tester is required to wear glasses for eye protection and antistatic gloves, standing on anti-electric shock mats.

All the stages comply with the company’s BSCI program. 

Automatic packaging: Thanks to the advantage of automatic domino connection installation, the light without dominoes will not be boxed. Output is 1,100-1,200 packages per hour. It is more efficient than manual packaging.

After that, packages will be packed in a carton box. There are 24 packages in a carton box. Now, they’re ready to be delivered to dealers and end users.
